GRAND ADVENTURES VANS – We use FORD TRANSIT 15 PASSENGER VANS.
We use to use 15 passenger Chevy Express vans for our Grand Canyon tours. While they are more durable and reliable, the seating isn’t as comfortable for our guests. We’ve found them to be the most durable, reliable, and safest vans. Our Grand Canyon tours get the joy of running up and down Highway 40 in Arizona. It’s basically a dirt road with tar and pebbles scattered all over it. It’s rough! Ugh! You’ll read comments on how rough the ride is and we’ve complained to no avail to highway safety. Luckily, we know the road like a map and miss as many of these bad spots as possible.
Grand Canyon Van Summary
I chose to use these vans are our vehicles for a few reasons. First, is safety. The Chevy Express vans are a lot heavier and not as top-heavy as the sprinter or Ford Vans. The Ford vans have a shorter wheel base length. Second, is money. The insurance for our Grand Adventures vans and our vehicles is a lot cheaper on Chevy vans. It’s still expensive but better than the other vehicles. They are also easy to repair and replacement parts are cheap. Third, is durability. The Chevy vans hold up to poor road conditions a lot better. Our Grand Adventures vans get beat up on our Grand Canyon tours.
Grand Adventures Vans - Maintenance
I grew up on a farm in Michigan and know how important it is to maintain our vehicles. I went on to be a mechanic in the Army later so we have an intense, preventative maintenance program for our Grand Adventures vans. Our vehicles get every part from fuel pumps to belts changed every six months. The best change of a breakdown is because the new part went in and failed within a few weeks on your Grand Canyon tour.

We have an impeccable preventative maintenance program for our vans. Safety is our main priority. We may rent vans on occasion when our vans are having preventative maintenance performed on them.
