Our Grand Canyon Sunset Tour is the only sunset tour offered from Las Vegas. It’s a classic at Grand Adventures and for our customers! This is one of our unique, boutique tours to easily one of the greatest sights in earth, Grand Canyon National Park. National Geographic rates Grand Canyon as one of the top ten places to watch a sunset in the world. The only experience that can make it better is watching a sunset over it. Can you imagine watching a sunset at one of the seven natural wonders of the world? We begin our walk El Tovar Hotel and have a quick picnic. Then, onto the upper rim trail to Yavapai Observation Station. The most stunning part of the walk is watching the Grand Canyon slip from the bright light of day to the glowing, magical colors of dusk. The South Rim is 1,000 feet lower than the North Rim so the Grand Canyon looks like a screen drop against the sky, where we’ll see shadows and colors grace the floor of the canyon. It’s absolutely stunning and surreal and will keep you breathless throughout the walk. The best part about walking is that we’re able to feel the peace and serenity of the Grand Canyon wisp around us. Grand Adventures is the only tour operator to offer such a cool sunset tour and experience!
Summary
Our Grand Canyon Sunset Tours start in Las Vegas with a McDonald’s breakfast before visiting the mighty Hoover Dam. Here, you will have a great view of its intake towers, the O’Callaghan – Tillman Memorial Bridge, and Lake Mead. Our tour continues to Kingman, where we make a quick stop rest stop. The journey continues with a stop on Route 66 in Seligman, Arizona. This, the longest piece left, inspired the Pixar film, ‘Cars’. Finally, we’ll for our Grand Canyon Sunset Tour. Our tour will walk along the Grand Canyon South Rim from El Tovar Hotel to Yavapai Point, which is considered one of the most popular spots to enjoy the sunset at the Grand Canyon. The walk on our Grand Canyon Sunset Tour is very easy and up to 2 miles. It’s along a flat, paved sidewalk on the upper rim trail.
We started offering Grand Canyon Sunset Tours in 2005 and still the only tour operator to offer such an amazing tour. It kinda started by accident because of an accident. Our Grand Canyon tour got to the park so late that we ended up staying for the sunset. It was soooo stunning, amazing, and surreal that we immediately put a Grand Canyon Sunset tour together for you. Everything you need to know about your Grand Canyon Sunset tours with Grand Adventures is right here. We have to keep using our little keywords here so thanks for being so patient the Grand Canyon description!
Important Grand Canyon SUNSET Notes
ITINERARY NOTICE
Please note that the itinerary can change at anytime for any reason without notice due to traffic, weather, lines, and any other unforeseen circumstances. We reserve the right to change, alter, modify, or amend the timeline and tour for any reason.
ALL INCLUSIVE PRICE
No sneaky resort or parking fees here! Our Grand Canyon sunset tour price includes sales tax, park entrance fees, bottled water, breakfast, lunch, and a lovely day with one of us! We don’t have any hidden junk fees at all. There’s not even a tax to watch any of the Grand Canyon sunsets.
THIS IS A 15 HOUR TOUR
See what a great deal our Grand Canyon Sunset Tours are with Grand Adventures? It only breaks down to $10 an hour for the entertainment to hang out on a with us to see the awesome Grand Canyon sunset and visit Grand Canyon National Park. THIS IS THE TOUR YOU WANT TO TAKE IF YOU WANT TO CHECK “GRAND CANYON” OFF OF YOUR BUCKET LIST!
WE USE FORD TRANSIT 15 PASSENGER VANS
We use Ford Transit 15 passenger vans but only put ten customers in each group. We may increase it up to twelve in the event of an emergency. This is very rare. The Fords offer great views, allow a very small, intimate tour environment, and don’t block views or communication between.
DOES NOT OFFER SKYWALK
Boo! Our Grand Canyon Sunset Tours don’t visit the west rim so we don’t offer the skywalk on this tour. The Grand Canyon skywalk will only be available on our Grand Canyon skywalk tour.
REFUND POLICY
Cancellations within 48 hours are not eligible for a refund. The only reason for this policy is to prevent people from booking to hold seats and cancel later. We will issue refunds for validated and confirmed flight issues, family emergencies, and inclement weather cancellations .
HIKER RATING 3/10
We’ll walk along the upper rim trail as we make our way to watch the amazing Grand Canyon sunset. There are a few hills and some lookout points have have stairs. There is very little off-trail walking and if you do huff and puff, it’s not because you are out of shape. We’ll be at 7,000 feet in elevation!
NO CHILDREN UNDER 10
We unfortunately do not allow children under ten. Our Grand Canyon tours are more involved with each other and the van is small and intimate. The walk can be challenging to keep the interest of children under ten. We do make regular exceptions to this though, especially for customers traveling from overseas and if you have a few children over ten and a few under. We definitely can’t make exceptions for very young or infant children.
LAS VEGAS SHOWS
Please DO NOT, never-ever-ever, swear-on-a-grave, BOOK A SHOW on the same night as your Grand Canyon skywalk tour. There’s always a slight chance that your tour experience could be vastly enhanced by a non-charged bonus like a flat tire, inclement weather, accident on the freeway, or even get caught in a herd of my beloved Michigan state animals, construction cones!
SAFETY NOTE
The Grand Canyon west rim is located at 4,500 feet in altitude and is pretty easy to get around. Just make sure you wear good shoes.
PICNIC LUNCH DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER
We’ll eat inside the van on the way to the Grand Canyon or one of the lodges if it gets too hot or cold, snowy, or rainy out on your Grand Canyon Sunset Tour. The great news is that inclement weather provides the best sunset at Grand Canyon.
WHAT TO BRING FOR VAN RIDE
We have WIFI hotspots but there’s a bigger problem called the old jingle, “Receeeeption”. There’s a lot of dead spots going to the Grand Canyon. Please bring a book or another forms of entertainment. It’s a very long, scenic drive to the Grand Canyon but one of the few destinations that you’ll see that actually lives up to its hype! The scenery will change 3-4 times and those who don’t choose to sleep normally talk to each other.

PHOTO STOP ON ROUTE 66
Have you seen the Disney movie “Cars”? Well, Seligman, Arizona is a very famous place that’s recently been discovered. John Lassiter, the writer and producer of Cars, spent quite a bit of time here and many of the characters from Cars are based on REAL PEOPLE from Seligman. It’s also home to the real Angel of Route 66. There was a time in America when Route 66 was the major thorough way that connect East to West. It began in Chicago and ended at the Santa Monica Pier and was decertified and removed from the maps in 1978. A true angel named Angel Delgadillo to lobby the Arizona government to recertify it as Historic Route 66. Angel’s tireless efforts virtually saved the remaining parts from extinction. It was his actions that inspired John Lassiter to write the movie “Cars”.
6
PHOTO STOP AT HOOVER DAM
Our first stop on the Grand Canyon Sunset Tours is the Hoover Dam. We’ll make a 10-15 minute photo stop on our way to the Grand Canyon. We stop at the lookout point closest to the dam, which overhangs the Colorado River. You’ll be surprised that the dam is much smaller then it looks on TV or in those Superman movies.
7
McDONALDS BREAKFAST & PICNIC LUNCH
The Grand Canyon sunset tours have a picnic lunch near the rim of the Grand Canyon. It’s the main differences between Grand Adventures and other tours. We will stop along the trail and set up lunch right on the rim of the Grand Canyon. The sandwiches are big and there is plenty of food to eat. Most people save half of the sandwich for the ride home. We do not believe in the type of hospitality that leaves people still hungry after a scheduled meal.
8
A GRAND CANYON SUNSET
We will set up at Yavapai, Mather, or Granger Point to watch the sunset. It depends on how busy it is at the Grand Canyon. We have a few hidden spots along the rim and try to get away from the large crowds. National Geographic also rates the Grand Canyon as one of the ten places in the world to watch a sunset. So, make sure you bring a lot of memory cards or clear your phone off!
