Our Hoover Dam Tours at Grand Adventures visit one of the seven man-made world wonders, the The Hoover Dam! The Hoover Dam was built between 1931-1935 and brought life to the heart of the Mohave desert. The water reservoir sparked the growth of Las Vegas! We are proud at Grand Adventures to provide the most extensive Hoover Dam Tours in Las Vegas.
The Hoover Dam Tours start in Las Vegas, making its first stop at the famous Las Vegas Sign. It’s one of the most famous signs in the world. We’ll hit the road and stop for your Michelin dining experience, McDonald’s. We’ll move onto Hoover Dam, stopping at Lake Mead overlook, walk onto the O’Callaghan – Tillman Memorial Bridge, park at Hoover Dam, take a tour inside Hoover Dam and the power plant, then see the museum and do a guided walk over Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam Tours are fully guided and with full narration by the tour guide. The tour lasts between 5-6 hours.

ALL INCLUSIVE PRICE
No sneaky resort or parking fees here! Our price includes sales tax, park entrance fees, bottled water, breakfast, lunch, and a lovely day with one of us! We don’t have any hidden junk fees at all. Junk fees in Vegas are getting almost as guaranteed as death and taxes.

WE USE 15 PASSENGER FORD TRANSIT VANS
We use Ford Transit 15 passenger vans but only put ten customers in each group. We may increase it up to twelve in the event of an emergency. This is very rare. The Ford vans offer great views, allow a very small, intimate tour environment, and don’t block views or communication between us.
POWER PLANT INCLUDED IN PRICE
Yay! Grand Adventures Hoover Dam tours include the Power Plant tour for free in the our ticket price. We’ll get to watch a short movie, take the elevator 725 feet down into Hoover Dam, visit the water manifolds, and see the power plant. We’ll ride back up the elevator and into the museum and overlook.
REFUND POLICY
We have free cancellation up to 48 hours of your departure time. Tour cancelled within 48 hours are not eligible for a refund. Unfortunately, people hold seats and cancel after they shop for tours in Vegas. This prevents people from blocking tours. We will issue refunds for validated and confirmed flight issues, family emergencies, and inclement weather changes or cancellations.

The walk on our Hoover Dam tour is very easy except for the stairs up to the O’Callahan – Tillman Memorial Bridge. The rest is flat and on sidewalks. We’ll stop at Lake Mead Overlook for a photo stop, park at the visitor center, do the power plant tour, and walk over Hoover Dam. We usually get around 7,000 steps on this tour for those of you step-counting!
NO CHILDREN UNDER SEVEN
We unfortunately do not allow children under seven without permission first. Please email us first if you need an exception. We make exceptions for families traveling with children over ten and one or two under that age. Grand Canyon tours are more involved with each other and the van is small and intimate. The walk can be challenging to keep the interest of children under ten. We do make regular exceptions to this though, especially for customers traveling from overseas and if you have a few children over ten and a few under. We definitely can’t make exceptions for very young or infant children.
LAS VEGAS SHOWS
Guess What? You can book a BOOK A SHOW on the same night as your Grand Canyon skywalk tour. There’s always a slight chance that your tour experience could be vastly enhanced by a non-charged bonus like a flat tire, inclement weather, accident on the freeway, or even get caught in a herd of my beloved Michigan state animals, construction cones!
SAFETY NOTE
There is extreme heat in the summer so please be properly hydrated for summer tours. Beer doesn’t count. We’re there before the extreme heat hours of 3-4pm but still very hot for customers not acclimated to it. Hoover Dam has signs not to leave “pets or children” in cars during extreme heat. It doesn’t say anything about husbands or wives so plan accordingly.
WHAT TO BRING FOR VAN RIDE
We have WIFI hotspots but there’s a bigger problem called the old jingle, “Receeeeption”. There’s a lot of dead spots going to the Grand Canyon. Please bring a book or another forms of entertainment. It’s a very long, scenic drive to the Grand Canyon but one of the few destinations that you’ll see that actually lives up to its hype! The scenery will change 3-4 times and those who don’t choose to sleep normally talk to each other.

GUIDED WALK TO O'CALLAHAN-TILLMAN MEMORIAL BRIDGE
The guided walk is up onto the Callahan – Tillman Memorial Bridge is impressive! It’s the second highest bridge in the United States and tallest concrete arch bridge in the world. It sits 900 feet over the Hoover Dam and Colorado River. It’s named after former Las Vegas mayor, Michael O’Callahan, and Army Ranger and Arizona Cardinal, Pat Tillman.

FULLY GUIDED & NARRATED WALK
All of our tours include fully-guided walks with narration for free. Our tour guides don’t sit in the van and wait for you to visit lookout points. They’ll walk with you, assist with pictures, and narrate this history. Hoover Dam doesn’t include a lot of walking but like all of our tours, it is fully-guided. We’ll show you all of the cool spots we’ve found over the years, point out hidden lookout points, take pictures of your group, and explain how the Grand Canyon was formed.

COMPLIMENTARY PICKUP & DROPOFF
We pick-up and drop-off all of our customers and not phasing this service out like other companies. We are already starting early and don’t want to make you travel to a destination point. We will pick up from any hotel or casino as long as it’s adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip. Transportation services are limited to Grand Adventures Tours customer and we sadly can’t pick up at personal residences.

MCDONALD'S BREAKFAST INCLUDED
We’ll stop at McDonald’s and grab a quick bite to eat for breakfast, eat together, and break the ice before we venture out to the Grand Canyon. This will allow you to sleep in a little later and not worry about getting breakfast before the tour. It’s a great time to finally sit, eat, talk, and get to know each other before the tour. It’s also your first Michelin dining experience in Vegas, at least by Michigan standards!

GUIDED TOUR ONTO HOOVER DAM
We offer the only guided tour over Hoover Dam. We do not stop for photos. We park and walk onto Hoover Dam so you can see both sides: The reservoir and power plant. It’s really hot in the summer so download your thermometer on your phone and we’ll try to catch 125 degrees or 48 celcius!We usually do the walk in the afternoon because we try to beat the west rim skywalk line. Those big buses are on the move! We stop at the lookout point closest to the dam, which overhangs the Colorado River. You’ll be surprised that the dam is much smaller then it looks on TV or in those Superman movies.

POWER PLANT TICKET INCLUDED
Grand Adventures Tours includes the power plant tour and admission fee with the Hoover Dam tour. The tour guide will get the tickets, walk you to the elevator, and meet you at the museum, which is the end of the tour. You’ll go visit the memorial and do a guided walk over Hoover dam after this. You get to go down inside the Hoover Dam generator room on our Hoover Dam tour. You’ll get to see the manifolds and hear water rushing through them, hear the generators buzzing, and get an awesome tour inside the dam.

PHOTO STOP AT FAMOUS LAS VEGAS SIGN
Our Hoover Dam Walking Tour includes a stop at the most famous sign in the world, the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. We’ll stop at the famous Viva Las Vegas sign on the way out of Las Vegas. It’s our very first stop in the morning and we get there early enough that we have free reign on it. It gets really, really busy there. There’s some great pics here before we get going on our Grand Canyon Skywalk tour.
